About Me

My photo
Hi My name is Liseth and one of the things I remember most when I was growing up was watching my grandmother sew fabric into the most beautiful creations. That's where my love for sewing came from. I love to travel and learn different cultures. As well hike and spend time with loved ones. My future goal: I hope to one day go to Thailand and Bora Bora.

Almost there

The count down is official next week I will be married. Everything is set, now the tough part pack and ready to move. I currently have a walk-in closet and going to a closet with half the space, just the look of my closet right now, ugh where to begin. ...I started to purge my closet of items I have not used in a while, which feels great! I have my closet color coordinated, so I took all my black and brown items to my new place. Hopefully I'll finish tackling this beast by the end of the weekend or at least before the wedding date.

Cents count!

As my fiance was spring cleaning he showed me a few bags that he had collected with spare change over last few years. I was completely shocked how heavy all the bags were, I took the liberty to separate all the coins and my dad packaged all the coins in coin wrappers. 3 days later all coins are wrapped and now the grand total close to $400 in pure coins! Next step going to the bank to deposit it, I'm sure that bank teller is going to love me. Just shows every coin counts.

It is less than 2 months away for the wedding my Mom and maid of Honor did my bridal shower on Saturday. We had so much fun! It's amazing how a moms love will go so far, my mom took 3 days off from work to prepare for the party. She did the majority from cooking, baking, decorating, food shopping etc....The theme Hollywood glamour, my Maid of Honor was so cute and brought our version of the red carpet:

Taste Testing

Today I go with my mom and sister in law to a bridal expo at the reception site of my wedding. My mom is extremely excited as today we get to try the food, appetizer choices, cake vendors and see different flower decor. One of my favorite things about this place is the view as the restaurant sits on top a small mountain. Here are a few pictures from their website:

green please!

So the last weekend I spent my time in my backyard. My poor backyard has only small patches of grass, it has come along way, though as my dad did tell me awhile back, what this yard needs disparately is good dirt. I finally had some extra cash and I bought some extra bags of dirt and put grass seeds on the bald spots and with the rain we have had lately I'm hoping it will make my dirt into nice green grass....wish me luck. here is a picture of what I started with, my dad was sweet to add the planters for me to grow veggies in them, I'll take a picture of how it looks now and post it next week:

Take a Stand

As my mom would say what is a wedding without the cake! After doing some research, I found the perfect cake layout at the bakery's catalog, a simple cake with butterfly on a tree stand. I never knew trying to find the tree stand would be so hard, the bakery shop gave me a phone number of someone that would rent and/or sell, but funny thing he wanted to rent me the stand more than the cake purchase.....ummm no thank you! My fiance and I the next day went to look at house paint and when we passed by the plants I said "stop", I think this is the tree stand. He helped me take all the plants on display on it and there it was, way cheaper than the rental and it would be ours too keep. I put more moss on it, added some flowers, rocks...and here is my tree cake stand:
