About Me

Hi My name is Liseth and one of the things I remember most when I was growing up was watching my grandmother sew fabric into the most beautiful creations. That's where my love for sewing came from. I love to travel and learn different cultures. As well hike and spend time with loved ones. My future goal: I hope to one day go to Thailand and Bora Bora.

Dress blues

What is a wedding without some fun planning and some stress right? So here is my current little dilemma, I had ordered 4 of the 5 bridesmaid dresses and let the girls know I would be dropping each of their dress as they were mailed to my parents place. One of my bridesmaid told me she was expected great, oh no her dress won't work few months down the line LOL (ok no biggie, I'll try to sell it online or something). After I gave the dress to the rest of the girls my cousin text me a few days later, ummm my dress doesn't fit...again I thought ok, plenty of time fixable. I send messages to the seller and decided they will custom make me another dress and I pay for the fees. Few days later my cousin sends me another text "I must have been super bloated or something, the dress now fits".... Well lucky me, trying to be careful with my money and now I'm out 2 dress which I have to pay for.
If I can't sell the dresses online I was thinking maybe I can have my pregnant bridesmaid have both dresses combined to make hers or have it taken in for the other bridesmaid that hasn't order the dress??? What is your thought or suggestions?

Switched!

I've been planning for a wedding last couple of months. Though on Sunday I finally got my engagement ring. My boyfriend took me on a walk on this cloudy day in the nature center. We stopped at this bridge and he was asking me, "do you remember when I first tried to hold your hand"? "I put my hands in your jacket pocket and told you my hands where cold, when you put your hand in my pocket and found out it was lined with fleece" LOL....so he grabbed my hands putting them in his jacket pocket and I felt the ring box. He then went down on his knee and opened the box. My first reaction "What?" and I started laughing. He was really puzzled until he turned the box around and saw he grabbed the wrong box, it has his old high school ring. Needless to say once we got home, he turned on the chimney and Christmas tree lights, when I saw him waiting for me he said "this is the way it should have been" now he had the right box. Poor guy he said he was so embarrassed, but I told him he just made this moment more memorable.

recycle and renew

My future husband was one day looking through a pile of old shirts that he just couldn't bare to get rid of, especially this shirt of a dog that had the saying "we don't need no stinkin leashes" even though it had 2 huge holes, or as he called them ventilation hole (I could fit almost my whole hand in it). I finally convinced him if he really liked the shirt to let me make him something with the picture on it so he can still continue to preserve it a bit longer and use it. He finally agreed and asked me for a apron, I framed the cut out of the shirt with red trim and here are my end results. Needless to say I have an extremely happy camper :O)

Marry me Veil

Sometimes when we are not looking for things we don't realize what we like....in this case my mom and I were looking at wedding dress as a few dress were tried on, I never thought I would think much about the veil. But, as I had a few veils put on me, I realized how much a veil could add a beautiful and delicate appeal to the dress. The more I thought about the veil and looked at them, the more I realized I wasn't seeing what I was looking for. Therefore, of course I decided to make my own. After I found the perfect tulle I these are the end results:
who knew a dress would do that to me LOL.

Puppy tude

My parents have this very spoiled dog named Brisquet, whom we all love! It's funny how these furry creatures can have such a unique personality. When the dog is mad at my mom he'll completely ignore her and walk right past her. Brisquet, the dog can be very mischievous and playful. He knows he's not allowed on my parents furniture and when we sneaks into their house he likes to take a nap under the dinning table. But one particular day, when my dad stepped away from his lazy boy chair I walked by the living room and found this furry creature trying to take a quick nap. LOL
I think the flash caught him off guard.
he hasn't done this in a while, but he used to jump on the outside chairs and sit on the table too!
got to love him!

Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder

Sometimes we can spot beauty or imagine what something may become after we put a little work and shine into something..... That's how it was with this home, when my family first saw this home they thought oh my I don't know about this place. I told them all just give it a chance a little color, some work and love will bring it's beauty out of this charming home. I had taken some before and after pictures of each room, looking back to the before pictures I'm really surprised how much these changes made a difference. Here's a few before and after pictures after working on the home for over 6 months: .
The kitchen I forgot to take a before pic, but luckily I found one from the previous owner:
next step save up for furniture LOL.

Calling Bunny lovers!

Just a few weeks ago I won a little auction on 2 pairs of bunnies, I just love bunnies, I'm going to keep 1 pair and posted the other in my shop. After doing some research I found out they were made my Gladys Boalt, which has her signature on the bottom of the foot and signed 1983. she has such attention to detail, they have cute little whiskers and even a little baby bunny attached on the back of mommy bunny. It's funny because sometimes you just don't know what you'll find.

A little Silly

Sometimes we all need a little silliness in our lives...the other day my boyfriend and I went to Catalina Island, the day was a little gloomy so I brought a little fun and warm beanie to wear. I guess I threw people off when they saw a grown adult wearing a tiger beanie. I didn't think I would get so much attention with it. here were a few response I got from strangers walking by after they saw me in this:
* husband and wife walking by: I don't mean to scare you, but you have a lion on your head. *group of drunk guys: hee hee hee *couple on bicycle: ride by and had the biggest smile when they saw the hat *tour guide: your hat is so funny, so anyways where was I....

favorite superhero?

As we were all growing up and watching different cartoons, tv shows, movies or comic books we all had a favorite super hero. The super hero that stood out the most for me was Wonder Woman, she was beautiful, smart, strong and had the coolest super hero outfit.

Even as a adult I'm still a fan, I have a lunchbox and 2 of the tv dvd series which I watch on a occasion. So now don't be shy and tell me who your favorite superhero was as a child?
